Handmade Irish ceramic and pottery pieces by Irish artist Loreto Reilly are individually formed by hand. Clay is an unyielding material when fired, but to work with is soft and malleable, and these qualities are retained in her finished work: Irish handmade ceramics and pottery of the finest quality.
Her range includes:
- Lamps
- Vases
- Candle-lights
- Platters
- Bowls
- Personalised Dinner Sets
- Large Scale Murals

The ceramics and pottery created have a ‘softness’ which invites the viewer to touch the piece, to find out if it is as pliable as it looks. Of course it is not, but already the person’s curiosity is engaged. Her choice not to use a potter’s wheel is a conscious one as hand-building allows creative thought to become an ever-present part of the process. So each piece of pottery has its own character, in fact a part of its maker’s character.
Her designs, as displayed at the 2012 Sculpture in Context exhibition at the National Botanic Gardens, are tall, fluted ceramic columns, that contain solar-powered lights. The slow release of the sun’s energy through the organic curves of the pieces creates a shimmering, ethereal effect by night, making these works of art particularly suitable for gardens, patios, and other outdoor settings.
